“Wrightway Construction has been responsible for the repairs and maintenance of my stone cottage since 1999 and I continue to be pleased with their reliability and the high quality of workmanship and standards maintained throughout these 17 years.

Being of traditional stone and lime construction, the cottage has needed knowledgeable and sympathetic treatment in order to retain its authenticity. I live in it for regular periods throughout the year but I also let it out as a holiday cottage. This means that it must satisfy modern requirements, for comfort and safety, as well as for aesthetic reasons.

The maintenance work carried out has, amongst other things, included regular external redecoration, plaster and joinery repair, refurbishment of the bathroom, new roof lights, chimney lining and electrical installations.

Two years ago, a complete re-structuring of the hard landscaping around the cottage was carried out, including specialist local stone paving and fencing and re-siting of the road drains, the latter following consultation with the local County Council Officer. The work was done to a design and specification provided by a professional Landscape Architect. It was implemented with care and skill and it has transformed the appearance and environment of the cottage as well as reducing the threat of flooding in bad weather.

Within the last 12 months, an extension has been built to house a shower/wet room. Again, this has been done to the highest standards so that, externally it blends in sympathetically with the original old building, yet internally it is modern and of a high specification. The work was carried out without the need for intervention from me and with due consideration for my close neighbours.

At all times I have been consulted and given regular progress reports, essential as I live 250 miles away for a good proportion of the year. Contact and communication is prompt and easy as is advice on choices and decisions to be made. Estimates and quotations have been accurate, deadlines kept (subject to weather) and work carried out to a consistently high standard. Knowing that I can rely on this and also benefit from help in emergencies has provided much peace of mind.

I am very pleased with the outcomes and I can recommend Russell Evans and his company unreservedly.”

“We employed a local builder to renovate our cottage in Saundersfoot in 2002 and were far from happy with his attitude or the end result.

When we decided to extend the cottage a few years later, we went out to tender again. Russell Evans of Wrightway was by far the most impressive tenderer we interviewed. He was straightforward and honest and made no unbelievable promises. His tender price was reasonable and acceptable to us. We could not have been happier with the way he approached the project, carried out the work in a professional manner and provided an excellent completed job.

So satisfied were we that now, June 2016, we are negotiating with Russell to have further work done. We trust him to carry out the work efficiently, at a reasonable price, so have given him the go ahead without going out to tender. Employ Wrightway, you won’t be disappointed.”

“We found Wrightway when searching for a local builder on the internet with a willingness to take on non-standard projects (rebuilding the roof on a 19th century grade 2 farmhouse). We were attracted by their experience and extensive work with the public and private sectors, as well as their ability to manage the project as a whole.

Wrightway’s attention to detail and personal engagement were apparent from the beginning, and they demonstrated a genuine commitment to the project, even in the face of unusually adverse conditions (the wettest winter on record). The work was completed to a very high standard and we would unhesitatingly recommend them to others.”

A huge building project for my husband Ian and I, a loft conversion to include a large ensuite and rear extension , one problem, we were absentee clients as we lived in Kenya and our home to be renovated was in Wales.

In 2005 Russell and his team undertook our project and we were his first absentee clients and became part of the digital era with digital camera and the Internet.

First meeting Russell was an experience that put Ian and I at ease immediately with his communication skills, building knowledge and ideas, we built a trust over the weeks we discussed the project and received the estimate of cost. Russell was the person for the work and we left for Kenya leaving our home in his very capable hands.

Throughout the construction Russell kept us fully informed through emails, phone calls, and the new digital camera with weekly videos and photos of the build. We were kept fully informed , consulted on all levels, about problems / decisions that needed to be made and Russell consistently worked to meet our needs and preferences within planning / technical limitations and dealt with promptly. Once completed Russell had our home professionally cleaned and it was ready for our return from overseas.

Ian and I were thrilled with our new home and huge thanks to Russell and his confident, professional, experienced team.

I contacted Russell without any hesitation a few days ago regarding further work I need undertaking in the knowledge i have trust and confidence in Wrightway Construction.

Thank you.

From my first meeting with Russell Evans I thought him to be an honest and trustworthy man. Wrightway Construction made, what might have been a traumatic experience, into a very enjoyable project.
